Fezziwig's Marketplace is a family-run shop at 225 W. 1st Street, O'Fallon, Illinois. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and who else sees it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
Information you give us
- When you order online: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number.
- When you pay: your card details go directly to our payment provider. They are used to process your payment and we never see or store your full card number.
- When you sign up for email: your email address, and your phone number if you opt in to text messages.
- When you book a class or event: the same order details, plus anything you tell us about dietary needs or accommodations.
- When you shop in the store: if you give us your email at the register, it is added to your customer record so your purchases and any loyalty rewards stay together.
- When you contact us: whatever you choose to include in your email, call, or message.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived. This comes from cookies and similar technologies. We use it to keep the site working, to understand which products and pages people actually look at, and to show you relevant email if you have subscribed.
How we use your information
- To take, pack, and ship your order, and to tell you where it is
- To reserve your seat at a class and send you the details
- To answer your questions and handle returns
- To send marketing email or texts, if you asked for them
- To invite you to review something you bought
- To run our loyalty and referral programs
- To understand how the shop and the website are doing, and to improve them
- To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the business, and only as much as each one needs:
- BigCommerce hosts our online store
- Our payment provider processes card payments
- Klaviyo sends our email and text messages
- Stamped handles product reviews and loyalty rewards
- Lightspeed is our in-store point of sale system
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager give us website statistics; Google Fonts serves typefaces used on the site
- impact.com and ReferralCandy run our affiliate and referral programs
- USPS and other carriers deliver your order
- Our accountant sees the financial records required to file our taxes
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers, or public safety.
Email and text messages
We only send marketing email to people who asked for it. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately. If you opted in to text messages you can stop them by replying STOP. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order confirmations, shipping notices, or class details, which we send because you bought something.
Cookies
Cookies keep your cart from emptying, remember you between visits, and let us count visitors. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site, particularly the cart and checkout, will not work properly without them.
Reviews
If you leave a product review, your review and the name you give will be shown publicly on our site. We publish reviews as they come, good and bad. We do not offer anything in exchange for a positive review, and we do not hide unfavorable ones.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@fezziwigsmarket.com or call (618) 726-2230 and we will take care of it. We may need to keep certain records, such as completed orders, for tax and accounting purposes.
Children
Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Keeping your information safe
Our site runs over an encrypted connection, and payment details are handled by our payment provider rather than stored by us. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously and we work with established vendors rather than building our own.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
