Our Story

Who Was Fezziwig?

Every great story needs a name, and ours began with one of literature's most beloved authors. When our original marketplace opened in Historic Lebanon, we sought a name to honor the town's unique distinction as the only city in Illinois where Charles Dickens stayed during his American tour. Shortly after his 1843 visit, Dickens wrote his timeless classic, A Christmas Carol, featuring young Scrooge's generous and beloved employer, Ole Fezziwig—a character synonymous with warmth, joy, and community. The name was a perfect fit, and the rest is history.

Our Home in O'Fallon, Illinois

In July 2015, Fezziwig's began its next chapter, moving to the vibrant center of O'Fallon's Downtown District. We found our home in the historic former Schwarz Furniture building, a beautiful structure dating back to the late 1800s. With its expansive, landscaped courtyard, it provided the perfect setting for customers to relax with a cup of tea, a glass of wine, and the good company of friends and neighbors.

Continuing a Legacy of Warmth & Welcome

Today, owner Jackie is the proud steward of the Fezziwig's legacy. Her vision is built on the same values as Ole Fezziwig himself: a deep commitment to our customers, who we consider family, and a passion for creating a welcoming space where our community can gather. It is our joy to provide memorable experiences, from discovering the perfect gift to mastering a new skill in our kitchen.
