Don’t let the thought of making sourdough bread from scratch discourage you from starting on this journey. Sourdough bread is a naturally leavened bread made with a fermented starter of flour and water, giving it a tangy flavor, chewy texture, and crispy crust.
In this hands-on class, Megan and Robin will guide you through the process of creating your own sourdough starter. You’ll not only learn how to prepare and care for your starter, but also discover the best practices for feeding it, how often to bake your bread, and creative ideas for using sourdough discard. Throughout the session, you’ll also gain insight into the health benefits of sourdough bread.
To put your new knowledge into practice, you’ll use a premade mature starter to prepare a tasty snack from the starter’s discard. Megan and Robin will share tips, tricks, and delicious recipes to help you make the most of your sourdough adventure, ensuring a fun and rewarding afternoon in Fezziwig’s kitchen.
Wine by the glass will also be available for purchase during this fun event. If the class is sold out, please contact 618-726-2230 to be added to our waiting list. All tickets for classes and events are final. No refunds or exchanges are available.
